The 5-inch (127-mm) 62-caliber Mk 45 Mod 4 Naval Gun system is in U.S. Navy service today, and is ready to significantly enhance Naval Surface Fire Support (NSFS) and overall mission performance. Major upgrades of the Mk 45 Mod 4 include a 62-caliber barrel, strengthened gun and mount subsystems, advanced control system enhancement, and a reduced signature, low maintenance gun shield.

The Hyper Velocity Projectile (HVP) is a next-generation, common, low drag, guided projectile capable of executing multiple missions for a number of gun systems. The high-velocity compact design relieves the need for a rocket motor to extend gun range. Firing smaller, more accurate rounds decreases the likelihood for collateral damage and provides for deeper magazines and improved shipboard safety.

BAE Systems 5” Multi Service - Standard Guided Projectiles will provide the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. allies with precision long range fires. With more than fifty-five Mk 45 Mod 4 Naval Guns deployed worldwide, the 5-Inch Multi Service - SGP greatly expands the capacity to provide long range joint fires and support asymmetric operations around the world. The Mk 45 Mod 4 will deliver 5-Inch fires at a maximum rate of 10 rounds per minute to 52 nautical miles to achieve desired effects. The 5-Inch Multi Service - SGP offers rapid time of flight and the capability of in-flight retargeting to address moving targets, changing target conditions, and surface threats.

BAE Systems' 57MM Mk110 (internationally known as the Bofors' 57Mk3) provides high survivability and tactical freedom at all levels of conflict. In the littoral scenario the gun must have the capability to engage threats that were impossible to engage with conventional gun systems. Survivability in such an environment requires an extremely flexible weapon system. The 57mm Mk110 has this flexibility, which is proven by the fact that it is the deck gun of choice for the US Coast Guard’s National Security Cutter and offshore patrol cutter classes of ships, as well as for the US Navy’s LCS ships.

The low weight and compact Bofors 40 Mk4 gun system with its high rate of fire and capability to switch between optimized ammunition types, including the intelligent 40 mm 3P all-target ammunition, provides high survivability and tactical freedom at all levels of conflict.
