The USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) is a Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship in service with the United States Navy. She was commissioned on 8 June. Oak Hill is part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), which also includes the flagship Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) and the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), which are operating in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Harpers Ferry class of the United States Navy is a class of dock landing ships completed in the early 1990s. A dock landing ship (also called landing ship, dock or LSD) is an amphibious warfare ship with a well dock to transport and launch landing craft and amphibious vehicles.

The Harpers Ferry class LSD is powered by four Colt Industries, 16-cylinder diesel engines which provide 25,000 kW to two shafts.  The ship is built to transport and launch two landing craft air cushion (LCAC) or 1 landing craft unit (LCU). She can transport 15 amphibious assault vehicles, 2 M1A1 Abrams tanks and up to 500 troops.

The USS Oak Hill is armed with two 25 mm Mk 38 automatic cannons, two 20 mm Phalanx CIWSClose-In Weapon Systems, two RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) infrared homing surface-to-air missile and six 0.5 in (12.7 mm) M2HB machine guns. The ship has a landing platform for two Sikorsky Sea Stallion helicopters but no hangar.
