Jackson (SSBN 730) in the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands. Underway replenishment sustains the fleet anywhere/anytime.

This exercise was designed to test and evaluate the tactics, techniques, and procedures of U.S. Strategic Command's expeditionary logistics and enhance the overall readiness of U.S.Navy strategic forces.

The Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk also Sea Hawk is a twin turboshaft engine, multi-mission United States Navy helicopter based on the United States Army UH-60 Black Hawk and a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family. The most significant modifications are the folding main rotor and a hinged tail to reduce its footprint aboard ships.

As the Navy's next-generation submarine hunter and anti-surface warfare helicopter, the MH-60R Sea Hawk is the cornerU.S. stone of the Navy's Helicopter Concept of Operations. Anti-Submarine Warfare and Surface Warfare are the MH-60R's primary missions. Secondary missions include Electromagnetic Warfare, Search and Rescue, Vertical Replenishment, Naval Surface Fire Support, logistics support, personnel transport, Medical Evacuation, and VHF/UHF/Link Communication Relay.

The MH-60R is equipped for a range of missions, including anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), search-and-rescue (SAR), naval gunfire support (NGFS), surveillance, communications relay, logistics support and personnel transfer, and vertical replenishment (VERTREP).

The USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN-730) is a United States Navy Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine that has been in commission since 1984. The Ohio class of nuclear-powered submarines includes the United States Navy's 14 ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs) and its four cruise missile submarines (SSGNs). Each displacing 18,750 tons submerged, the Ohio-class boats are the largest submarines ever built for the U.S.

The Ohio-class submarine is fitted with 24 Trident submarine-launched ballistic missile tubes in two rows of 12. She is also equipped with four 533mm torpedo tubes with an mk118 digital torpedo fire control system. The submarine can launch mk48 heavyweight torpedoes that have a warhead of 290 kg.
