Lockheed Martin receives contract modification for Trident II.

According to a press release published by Department of Defence, Lockheed Martin Space, Titusville, Florida, is awarded a $558,841,361 fixed-price-incentive and cost-plus-incentive-fee modification to exercise options under previously awarded contract N00030-20-C-0100 for Trident II (D5) missile production and deployed systems support.

Work will be performed in Magna, Utah (30.8%); Sunnyvale, California (13.0%); Denver, Colorado (9.9%); Cape Canaveral, Florida (8.3%); Titusville, Florida (6.3%); Camden, Arkansas (4.3%); Kings Bay, Georgia (4.1%); Kingsport, Tennessee (3.8%); Pittsfield, Massachusetts (2.6%); El Segundo, California (2.4%); Rockford, Illinois (2.1%); Biddeford, Maine (1.5%); Clearwater, Florida (1.4%); Inglewood, California (1.4%); Lancaster, Pennsylvania (1.1%); Elma, New York (1%); and other various locations (less than 1% each, 6% total).

Work is expected to be completed Sept. 30, 2026. Fiscal 2021 weapons procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $477,091,291; United Kingdom funds in the amount of $73,747,000; and fiscal 2020 weapons procurement (Navy) in the amount of $8,003,070 are being obligated on this award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

This contract is being awarded to the contractor on a sole-source basis under 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1) and was previously synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities website. Strategic Systems Programs, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.

The UGM-133A Trident II, or Trident D5 is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM), built by Lockheed Martin Space in Sunnyvale, California, and deployed with the American and British navies.
