Other countries that competed in the tender but did not win include South Korea and China. South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) presented the HDC-2000 Littoral Mission Ship, a design based on the Jose Rizal-class frigate owned by the Philippine Navy. The HDC-2000 is a relatively new design, completed only last year, and is characterized by its modern features and capabilities.
Italy's renowned shipbuilder Fincantieri also participated with its FCX15 design.
FCX15
The FCX15 is part of Fincantieri's FCX series of ships, a family of vessels that includes five different types: FCX07, FCX15, FCX20, FCX30, and FCX40. The displacement of these ships ranges from 700 tonnes for the smallest to 4,000 tonnes for the largest. The FCX15, in particular, is based on the designs of the Italian Navy's Sirio-class and Comandanti-class units, as well as the UAE's Abu Dhabi-class.
92M Corvette
Additionally, Abu Dhabi ShipBuilding (ADSB), a part of the Emirati defense giant EDGE, presented its 92M corvette design. The 92M corvette is a vessel equipped with a helicopter deck and hangar, and the capacity for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. She also features two rigid hull inflatable boats (RHIBs), various combat systems, electronic warfare (EW) systems, and a broad range of countermeasures.
The ship is powered by combined diesel and diesel (CODAD) engines. She achieves a top speed of 28 knots and has an impressive endurance of over 4,500 nautical miles at cruising speed.
