The ITS Francesco Morosini, a vessel from the Italian Navy, has been actively involved in a series of diplomatic and operational missions throughout 2023.

Starting with its activities in August, the ship made its presence felt in Mumbai, India, docking there from the 10th to the 13th. This visit was significant, not just for the interactions that took place but also because it marked a return of an Italian patrol vessel to the city after a long hiatus of 11 years.

Following its stint in Mumbai, the Morosini moved to Kuwait. Here, it wasn't just a routine port call. The ship engaged with local maritime authorities and played a role in the European Maritime Awareness in the Strait of Hormuz (EMASoH) operations, indicating the strategic importance of this visit.

Before these visits, the ship had a busy schedule in Southeast Asia. In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the Morosini anchored at the Nha Rong Wharf. This wasn't merely a ceremonial visit; it was aimed at fostering maritime cooperation and enhancing exchanges with Vietnamese naval forces.

In June and July, the Morosini docked in Busan, South Korea, and Manila, Philippines.

Now, as of September 5, 2023, the vessel has arrived in Karachi, Pakistan. Over the next four days, it will engage in a series of interactions with the Pakistan Navy, reinforcing the naval ties between Italy and Pakistan and emphasizing the importance of naval diplomacy in the modern era.
