This initiative is set to equip Vietnam's Naval frigates with Genasys' long-range acoustic hailing devices (LRADs). With this new acquisition, the Vietnam MOD's total expenditure on Genasys LRAD solutions since 2019 has reached an impressive $4.8 million USD.

David Schnell, Genasys Inc.'s VP of Global Business Development, remarked on the enduring partnership with the Vietnam MOD since 2019. He highlighted the company's consistent delivery of premier LRAD solutions to various Vietnamese defense sectors, including the Navy, Coast Guard, Army, and Border Guard.

The manually operated LRAD-500X-RE and 1000XI are cutting-edge Acoustic Hailing Devices (AHDs). They offer a non-lethal escalation of force capabilities and ensure clear communication over long distances, reaching up to 2,000 and 3,000 meters, respectively.

Since 2005, 26 international naval forces, including Coast Guards, have incorporated LRADs into their fleets, following the precedent set by the US Navy.

For example, the Singapore Navy has adopted the LRAD-500X-RE for its Formidable-class frigates to enhance their communication and deterrence measures.
