The drone was developed by the volunteer group AMMO.UKRAINE with input from specialists in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and other related sectors.

Its primary function is to target infrastructure such as bridges, ships, coastal fortifications, and submarines. Additionally, the "Marichka" drone can be utilized for reconnaissance missions and potentially for cargo transportation, given its designed compartments.

A notable feature of the drone is its communication system, which purportedly enables operation at significant depths and distances, addressing some challenges faced by similar underwater drones.

It's indicated that "Marichka" has a range of over 1000 km and can operate in varying modes, such as standby, based on operator input. The effectiveness and strategic implications of the drone for Ukraine's defense capabilities remain to be seen following the completion of its testing phase.
