The choice of the UAE as the location for this unveiling carries strategic implications. The Middle East, and particularly the UAE, is a region of significant maritime interest, often at the center of discussions about maritime security and strategic waterways. By presenting the Magura V5 at this venue, STE aligns itself with these regional interests, showcasing a technology that could potentially address some of the unique maritime security challenges faced in the area.

About the USV

The MAGURA V5 is a Ukrainian multi-purpose surface unmanned boat, notable for its versatility and capability to perform a wide range of tasks. These tasks include surveillance, reconnaissance, patrolling, search and rescue, mine countermeasures, maritime security, and combat missions.

In terms of its technical specifications, the MAGURA V5 measures 5.5 meters in length and has a gross weight of less than 1000 kg. Its payload capacity is significant, at 320 kg, and it can operate across a range of up to 400 km, with an operational range extending to 800 km.

The drone's autonomy is up to 60 hours, and it can carry a combat load of up to 200 kg. The cruising speed of the MAGURA V5 is 41 km/h, with a maximum speed of 78 km/h. It utilizes various navigation methods, including automatic GNSS, inertial, and visual navigation, and is capable of transmitting up to three HD video streams. It also features 256-bit encryption for cryptographic protection.

Furthermore, the MAGURA V5 is equipped with an autopilot system, video subsystems including night vision, redundant communication modules, and a combat unit. The total cost of the complex is reported to be about 273,000 USD.

One of the notable aspects of the MAGURA V5 is its propulsion system, which can be either electric or hybrid, ensuring stealthiness in operations. The guidance of the vessel can be conducted manually via a wireless mesh network, satellite communication, or autonomously.

Its additional equipment includes a dual-view electro-optic system with a gyroscope, marine radar, and laser rangefinder. The MAGURA V5's capabilities are such that, in addition to its primary role in surveillance and reconnaissance, it can also undertake mine warfare.
