OCEA to showcase its range of patrol vessels at LIMA 2015

Founded in 1987, in Les Sables d’Olonne, OCEA S.A. has rapidly expanded to become one of the French leaders in aluminium shipbuilding. Today, OCEA S.A. can rely on a staff of 290 employees and on up to date production tools to build vessels up to 85 meters length.

Founded in 1987, in Les Sables d’Olonne, OCEA is one of the pioneers in aluminum shipbuilding and one of the major aluminum industrial manufacturers. With 4 production sites located along the French Atlantic Coast (Les Sables d’Olonne, Saint-Nazaire, La Rochelle and Fontenay-le-Comte), OCEA delivers annually 10 to25 vessels up to 85 m long, monohulls, catamaran or trimaran, to address 4 clearly identified markets: Fast Patrol Boats, Passengers vessels, Multipurpose vessels, Motor Yachts

From the very beginning, OCEA S.A. has created an internal design capacity and has focused on operations inside the EEZ area (200 nautical miles). This important decision has enabled OCEA S.A to market competitive proposals in the Coastal Surveillance field with 3 customized offers designed for coast guard organizations missions, Maritime Safety and Maritime Security:

- Maritime Safety with the “Internal waters”, “Territorial waters” and “Exclusive Economic Zone” patrol boats ranges. These mono-hulls from 12 up to 85 meters long provide performances from 20 up to 55 knots.
- Maritime Security: especially developed to face new threats like terrorism and piracy with boats from 20 to 85 meters long and performances up to 55 knots.
- Auxiliary Vessels: developed to ensure the training and support services to coast guard organizations with versatile multipurpose vessels from up to 85 meters long.

Sustainability at the heart of our expertise

Today, 80% of 20-90 meters fast boats built across the world are made of aluminium. OCEA is considered as a pioneer in the aluminium shipbuilding; enjoying a strong and reliable reputation in the professional shipbuilding sector for more than 20 years. Highly resistant, durable and non-corrosive material, aluminium is a must to design and build cost effective high speed boats with optimized propulsion systems. Moreover, this material is up to ten times 100% recyclable. While allowing high speed capacities with low fuel consumption, also meaning less pollution, boats made of aluminium are a guarantee for durability with low cost maintenance.

OCEA chose to build its vessels in aluminium to combine performance, durability, sustainability and to propose real cost effective solutions.
