The Oerlikon Seaguard BIAX is a versatile and highly effective 2-axis multi-purpose naval target tracking system suitable for all weather conditions, offering comprehensive inner layer defense capabilities to protect crew and ship.

The BIAX tracker is equipped with X-band radar technology to counter fast moving air targets including highly-agile anti-ship missiles and the diverse range of above water conventional and asymmetric threats that exist today.

Both tracking systems of the Oerlikon Seaguard BIAX provide multi-sensor tracking, using radar and TV camera (TVC) in basic configuration and can be extended anytime with an infrared camera (FLIR) and a laser rangefinder (LRF). Using miniaturized power technology, the radar hardware fits behind the antenna without sacrificing performance and improving reliability.

The Oerlikon Seaguard BIAX makes use of modern signal processing and power management to provide excellent performance when compared with products operating in other frequency bands.

The Oerlikon Seaguard BIAX has a very compact design with integration of the complete radar hardware directly behind the antenna. It can be easily installed with reduced integration effort. Two parallel operating transmitters with full redundancy gives graceful degradation in case of failure.
