NAVDEX 2023: GIDS Pakistan showcases Taimoor Air Launched Cruise Missile.

GIDS exhibited its range of products at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) - 2023 was held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi - UAE from 20- 24 February 2023. A model of the air-launched cruise missile Taimoor was exhibited for the first time.

The Taimoor missile is reported to have a range of 290 km and a total weight of less than 1,200 kg. It is said to have a launched altitude of 2,000-25,000 ft and a cruise altitude of 500-20,000 ft.

Pakistan currently has two Air Launched Cruise Missiles (ALCM), Ra'ad and Ra'ad-II. 

The Ra'ad-II missile was first publicly unveiled during the Pakistan Day military parade on 23 March 2017. The missile has undergone improvements in its range and guidance systems since its initial development, with its range now extended to 600 km.

The Ra'ad-II missile features a conventional tail fin configuration and has a new "X" type tail, replacing the previous versions' large horizontal tails. It measures 4.85 meters in length, but further details about the missile have been kept classified.
