New pictures released of Russian Project 20380 corvette Merkuriy.

According to information published by Военный Осведомитель on March 28, 2022, new photos of the Mercury (ex-Retivy) corvette of the Russian project 20380 have been published while it is under construction at the Severnaya Verf shipyard.

Retiviy is a Steregushchiy-class corvette of the Russian Navy. Retiviy was laid down on 20 February 2015, and launched on 12 March 2020 by Severnaya Verf in Saint Petersburg. The name of the ship may have changed to Mercury as of 2021.

The Steregushchiy class, Russian designation Project 20380, is a class of corvettes being built for the Russian Navy. Designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau, subsequent vessels were built to an improved design (Project 20381), incorporating the Poliment-Redut SAM system.

The corvette has a displacement of 1800 tons, a total of 2220 tons. The length is the largest at 104.5 meters, width 13 meters, maximum draft of 7.95 meters. It has a maximum speed of 27 knots and has a cruising range of 4000 miles.

The class is armed with one 100 mm A-190 Arsenal or 130 mm A-192 naval gun, one Kashtan CIWS-M (Close-In Weapon System), eight Kh-35 (SS-N-25) subsonic cruise anti-ship missile, two AK-630М CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems), eight 330mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK (Paket-NK/E for export) anti-torpedo/anti-submarine torpedoes and two 14.5mm MTPU pedestal machine guns.
