According to the report by Ronald O’Rourke, a long-time naval analyst for the Congressional Research Service, the US Navy’s new Light Amphibious Warship (LAW) program envisions procuring a class of 28 to 30 new amphibious ships to support the Marine Corps, particularly in implementing a new Marine Corps operational concept called Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO).

The Northern fleet will hold a large-scale experimental exercise. It will engage the latest warships - the Vasily Bykov corvette of project 22160, the Odintsovo (22800), and the Zeleny Dol (21631). The former carries container arms for various missions. Experts believe the arms will be tested in northern seas while project 22800 and 21631 corvettes will fire missiles there, the Izvestia daily writes.

According to information published by the Sea Power Magazine website on August 12, 2020, the project for the construction of the first new Columbia ballistic missile will start for the Fiscal Year 2021.
