Shipyard in Volga area to build six Project 22160 patrol ships for Russia’s Navy
 
Russian Chinese drills Naval Interaction 2017 Baltic Sea Russia’s Navy is planning to receive six Project 22160 patrol ships, Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Korolyov said. "A series of Project 22160 patrol ships designed for the Russian Navy is currently under construction at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard [in the Volga area]. As of today, a contract for six patrol ships of the type has been signed," Korolyov said.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivered the amphibious transport dock Portland (LPD 27) to the U.S. Navy today. “Today is a great day for this collective industry and customer team,” said Kari Wilkinson, Ingalls’ vice president, program management. “For many of the shipbuilders, Supervisor of Shipbuilding representatives and members of the Navy program office, this is the 11th ship they have built and delivered together. Their personal commitment to excellence has become the hallmark of the LPD program, and we are positioned to continue that tradition on future ships.”
 

Bangladesh Navy to receive Leonardo’s AESA surveillance radars for new MPA

Leonardo has signed a contract with RUAG Aviation, original equipment manufacturer and type certificate holder of the Dornier 228 aircraft, to provide its Seaspray 5000E Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars for the two new production model Dornier 228 multirole aircraft, recently ordered by the Bangladesh Navy. The new aircraft will be used to help monitor and protect Bangladesh’s 120,000 square kilometres of maritime territorial area and exclusive economic zone (EEZ). The radars will be delivered in 2018.

The Royal Canadian Navy’s (RCN) unveiled its future interim Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment ship during an open house at Davie Shipbuilding’s Quebec shipyard on July 21, 2017. Vice-Admiral Ron Lloyd, Commander of the RCN, was at the unveiling, along with a number of representatives from industry and the federal government. He said it was a privilege for both himself and RCN Chief Petty Officer, Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Michel Vigneault, to be some of the first people to see the converted container ship in its new, freshly painted state.
