New Russian Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette project 20380 conducts firing tests with its 100mm naval gun

The Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette of project 20380 conducted another artillery fire in the Sea of Japan. The 100mm universal A-190 artillery naval gun fired at sea and air targets in various regimes. The AK-100 is a Soviet 100mm naval cannon, with a maximum rate of fire of 60 rounds per minute, firing a 26.8 kg munition in HE anti-air or HE fragmentation varieties. The corvette earlier held structural tests of the weapon.

The Aldar Tsydenzhapov is a Steregushchiy-class corvette, Russian designation Project 20380, a new class of corvettes being built for the Russian Navy. The ship was laid down in July 2015 and launched in September 2019.

The is armed with 1 × 100mm A-190 Arsenal, oneKashtan CIWS-M, eight Kh-35 (SS-N-25) anti-ship missiles, two AK-630М CIWS (Close-In Weapon System), eight 330mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK (Paket-NK/E for export) anti-torpedo/anti-submarine torpedoes, and two 14.5mm MTPU pedestal machine guns. 

The Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette is based on a stealthy design that significantly reduces the radar signature of the ship. The acoustic, infra-red, magnetic and visual signatures were also reduced by incorporating stealth technology in the construction of the warship. She has an overall length of 104.5 m, a width of 13m and a draft of 3.7m. The full load displacement of the ship is 1,800 tons in the standard configuration. The vessel can sail at a maximum speed of 27 kn (50 km/h; 31 mph). It can complement 90 personnel, including a helicopter maintenance crew.
