Russian divers of Sevastopol training centre test various types of diving gear

Diving students of the Sevastopol subsidiary of the unified training centre of the Russian Navy have got down to practical dives in various types of diving gear upon completion of a theoretical course, the Southern Military District (YuVO) said.

"The students are diving into the water and start sending various signals as they reach the sea ground that help determine the diver’s physical state and what he is doing on the seabed," YuVO’s press service said.

The dives are made from a stationary range and from a diving boat. A remotely piloted submersible controls the underwater actions of the divers.

At present, the Sevastopol subsidiary has more than 200 students studying various professions. They will serve at all the fleets and the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy upon graduation.
