"We are planning to conclude a contract for repairing the Tomsk nuclear submarine of project 949A and hand it over in 2021," he said when asked about the center’s workload.

The deputy defense minister noted that the plant had modernized the project 1234 small missile ship Smerch - its principal task in 2019. The ship’s armament control and delivery system has been renovated and new engines have been installed.

"But the ship’s equipment with the Uran anti-ship missile system is the main element of modernization that has increased the small missile ship’s capability to destroy surface ships," Krivoruchko said.
