The Gremyashchy corvette of project 20385 built by Severnaya verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg arrived in the Belomorskaya naval base of the Northern fleet for acceptance trials, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Gremyashchiy-class corvettes are very large multipurpose vessels, designed to complement the Steregushchiy class already being commissioned with the Russian Navy. They have been designed to have improved habitability for higher endurance missions, and are able to launch cruise missiles.

"The Gremyashchy corvette sailed from the Baltic to the White Sea in bad weather. The sortie was a good test of professional skills of the crew," it said.
The Nikolai Chiker rescue tug and ships of Belomorskaya base escorted the corvette in northern seas.
The Gremyashchy (onboard # 337) is the lead corvette of project 20385 built by Severnaya verf Shipyard for the Pacific fleet. It was laid on February 1, 2012 and floated in June 2017. The corvette is to sail the Northern Sea Route to the Pacific fleet in 2020 navigation. The Project 20385 corvette Gremyashchiy was unveiled to the public in Russia's Navy Day parade in St Petersburg on 28 July, 2019.
Project 20385 corvettes were designed by Almaz bureau. The multirole corvettes have to detect and destroy submarines and surface warships, support landing operations and engage in various brown-water missions. The displacement is 2500 thousand tons, the length is 106 meters, the width - 13 meters, the speed - 27 knots, the cruising capacity is 4000 miles and autonomous navigation is 15 days. The corvettes are armed with the universal Kalibr launchers, the antiaircraft Redut missiles, antisubmarine Paket complex, 100mm artillery gun A-190-01, two 30mm AK-630M, and a Ka-27 antisubmarine helicopter.
