According to information published by the U.S. Central Command on October 22, 2020, Bahrain based mine countermeasures ship USS Gladiator (MCM 11) assigned to U.S. 5th Fleet, Task Force (CTF) 52, recently completed a multi-day Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise with embarked mine warfare trainers on October 9, 2020.

According to a press release published on October 22, 2020, the Suffren, the first-in-series of the six nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs) in the Barracuda program for the French Navy, successfully completed the test-firing of an MdCN (Missile de Croisière Naval) naval cruise missile from the sea near the DGA missile test center at Biscarrosse, on October 20, 2020.

According to a press release published on October 19, 2020, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), a global leader in Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), kicked off a series of validation flights with MQ-9B SeaGuardian UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) on October 15, 2020, for Japan Coast Guard (JCG) in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. GA-ASI is working with Asia Air Survey (AAS) in Japan to conduct the flights.

According to a video published on October 20, 2020, Saab and Dutch shipbuilder Damen have joined forces to develop an expeditionary submarine for the Netherland´s Walrus Replacement Program. In 2018, the two companies announced their partnership to develop an expeditionary submarine for the Netherlands Walrus Replacement Programme (WRES). The Walrus is a submarine in service with the Dutch Navy. 

French Minister of Defense, Florence Parly, has decided to extend the service time of the French Navy patrol vessel Arago by three years, pushing back its withdrawal date from 2021 to 2024. A technical analysis conducted by the French Navy has made it possible to confirm the feasibility of the extension of the Arago and its ability to ensure the missions of protection of national interests and State action at sea.

The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) successfully completed a Live Fire with a Purpose (LFWAP) missile demonstration during Joint Warrior 20-2 by destroying a high speed maneuvering target using a Standard Missile 2 (SM-2), Oct. 14, 2020. According to a Tweet published by the Indian DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) on October 18, 2020, the Indian Navy successfully test-fired naval version of BrahMos cruise missile from the Indian Navy’s indigenously-built stealth destroyer INS Chennai, hitting a target in the Arabian Sea. The missile hit the target successfully with pinpoint accuracy.
