Two Raptor (Project 03160) High Speed Patrol Boats to Join Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet
 
Russian shipyard Open Joint Stock Company "Pella" based in Leningrad announced two Project 03160 Raptor high speed patrol boats will join the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy in early 2015. In late December 2014 the boats were delivered to Novorossiysk naval base by trucks from the shipyard. To date, at the Novorossiisk base the vessels completed builder sea trials with success from 2013 to 2014.

Two Project 03160 Raptor will soon join Russia's Black Sea Fleet
     
According to a Pella shipyard representative “The crews of boats together with specialists from the plant have begun to prepare the ships for the state tests. The boat is planned to be transferred to the Black Sea Fleet in the first quarter of 2015.

The boat is intended to perform the following missions during day-time and at night:
» Transportation of group of at least 20 soldiers;
» Duties in assigned areas;
» Interception and arrest of small targets;
» Rescue of people in areas of duty;
» Navigation area – coastal areas, straits, estuaries standing off a place of shelter within 100 miles.
