iXBlue Marins M7 on display at Euronaval 2014

The Innovation Trophy on technologies and equipment of the ship's defense future is awarded to the iXBlue company for its Marine M7.

The MARINS M series raises the bar in performance and scalability by addressing the needs of surface ship navigation under a GPS-denied environment. For submarines, MARINS M7 enables three times longer autonomous stealth navigation compared with any available system by offering drifts of less than 1 Nm/72 h.

The MARINS M series represents the state of the art in strap-down, fiber-optic gyroscope (FOG) technology, and is combat ready against GNSS denial. The military-specification units output position, heading, roll, pitch, depth and velocities, and are perfectly silent. The systems are compatible with a wide range of aiding sensors and can be up and running within minutes.

Subsea Tech CAT-Surveyor model at Euronaval 2014

The Innovation Award on the theme of maritime security is awarded to to SUBSEA TECH for its CAT-Surveyor project.

The CAT-Surveyor is a catamaran type USV, with tele-operated or automatic navigation mode, allowing hydrographic data acquisition or underwater port and inland waters surveillance. This USV has the unique capability of deploying a mini-ROV such as Subsea Tech’s “Observer” which comes with high definition cameras and optional imaging sonar for turbid waters.

With its open architecture and high-speed PC to PC communication the system allows to easily integrate and deploy mission-specific tools such as video cameras, side scan sonars, multibeam sonars, acoustic cameras, sediment sounders, magnetometers, physico-chemical sensors. Its payload is 80 kg and its endurance is twelve hours. The onshore pilot station allows visualizing and real-time controlling of all embedded software features through a Wifi link.
