Following the L-CAT Ship-to-Shore version that is primarily operated on the basis of a LHD, this new variant is 100% “Shore-to-Shore”.

Testing of Sea Venom/Anti-Navire Leger (ANL) anti-ship missile (a key UK-French program) is well on track, Navy Recognition learned from European missile company MBDA. The first jettison test of the missile from a DGA (French defense procurement agency) helicopter took place in December 2015 in Cazaux. We were told that the first live test firing should take place "in a few months" while full development of the missile is expected to be completed in 2018.

FTI Mid-Size Frigates: Latest Rumors Until the Design is Revealed at Euronaval

French Navy Lafayette Class Frigates Crotale SAM Systems May Be Replaced with SADRAL
 
During the Euronaval 2016 press tour held last week, an MBDA representative explained that French Navy (Marine Nationale) Lafayette-class frigates existing Crotale SAM system may be replaced with SADRAL launchers. "It is one of the options being considered for the upgrade" the representative said. According to an update to the French Military Planning Law (Loie de Programmation Militaire) released in May 2015, the Lafayette-class is set to receive an upgrade in the near future.
During the Euronaval 2016 press tour held last week, an MBDA representative explained that French Navy (Marine Nationale) Lafayette-class frigates existing Crotale SAM system may be replaced with SADRAL launchers.
