The important feature of the SWATH@A&R is the possibility to design ships around a modular concept, thereby fitting the ships with equipment for a diverse range of different capabilites: weapons for patrol boats, sonar technology for minesweepers or hydrographic research, diving equipment or medical devices.

The lightweight aluminium modules, which are positioned on the bow of SWATH vessels between the two hulls, work on the plug & play principle: they can be connected to electricity or water supplies on board in no time at all, and can be latched on or off and exchanged equally as quickly.

The ships therefore stays the same - just the equipment on board changes. And this can be performed easily, because the logistics, crane and lorry necessary are available in every port. This cost-efficient concept saves time and ensures sustainability.
