The Russian Navy Northern Fleet’s Project 1164 (NATO reporting name: Slava-class) Marshal Ustinov guided missile cruiser currently being repaired and upgraded at the Zvyozdochka Shipyard in Severodvinsk in north Russia will start undergoing running trials at sea in late August - early September, the shipyard’s press office told TASS.

Austal Delivers Future Littoral Combat Ship USS Montgomery (LCS 8) to US Navy
 
The US Navy accepted delivery of the future USS Montgomery (LCS 8) during a ceremony at the Austal USA shipyard, June 23. Delivery marks the official transfer of Montgomery from the shipbuilder to the Navy. It is the final milestone prior to commissioning, which is planned for September 2016 in Mobile, Alabama. LCS 8 is the seventh littoral combat ship (LCS) to be delivered to the Navy and the fourth of the Independence variant, which is noted for its trimaran hull.

This is the final, in a series of four vessels, designed and built for the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). The infrastructural facilities of Russia’s Pacific Fleet will allow it to accommodate Project 955 Borei-class nuclear-powered submarines with ballistic missiles and Project 885 Yasen-class nuclear-powered submarines with missiles and torpedoes, Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Korolyov said.

The lead diesel electric icebreaker Ilya Muromets of project 21180 became the first vessel of the class in 45 years of Russian Navy history to be floated by the Admiralty Shipyard in St. Petersburg, TASS correspondent reported. The ceremony was attended by Russian Navy Chief-of-Staff Vice Admiral Andrei Volozhinsky, head of the department for state defense order of the Russian defense ministry Andrei Vernigora and Director General of the Admiralty Shipyard Alexander Buzakov.
