The Type 075 is an LHD (Landing Helicopter Dock), NATO reporting name Yushen-class landing helicopter assault) designed and build by the Hudong–Zhonghua Shipbuilding company. As for the U.S. WASP-class amphibious assault ship, the Type 75 will be used by the Chinese Navy to launch various types of helicopters to attack naval vessels, enemy ground forces or submarines. The vessels will also be able to deploy landing craft and troops, and house command and control operations.

In September 2019, China has launched its first Type 75 during a ceremony at the CSSC’s Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard.

The Type 075 LHD is expected to have a displacement of 36,000 tons. In comparison, a Mistral-class LHD displaces 21,000 tons full load, the Juan Carlos LHD 26,000 tons and the Wasp-class 40,500 tons.

Type 075 LHD should be able to deploy and accommodate up to 30 helicopters (Z-8, Z-9, Z-18, Ka-28, Ka-31) with 6 helicopter spots on the flight deck and the main elevator located at the stern.
