The Boris Slobodnik big hydrographic boat joined the fleet earlier.

The Vladimir Kozitsky is the fifth boat of project 23040G. Project 23040G is designed for the precision shooting of seabed relief and inspecting navigational dangers at 400-meter depth, as well as for surveying the seabed with one-beam sounder at 2000-meter depth. The boats will help the Navy to service all types of floating warning marks, place and retrieve the marks weighing up to 1.7 tons and 6.5-meters long.

The boat can deliver food supplies, troops and repair teams to coastal navigational infrastructure, provide hydrographic support to rescue operations, pilot and lead submarines and big-displacement ships at approaches to deployment bases. The crew comprises nine men. There are five two-bed cabins and one single-bed cabin to accommodate the crew and passengers.

The new project 23040G was developed by ZNT OJSC. It is a further development of the project of multifunctional road boats of emergency rescue support 23040. A distinctive feature of the new project is that the master can control the movement of the vessel in various modes from both the central and stern posts. For the convenience of the operator and the safety of navigation, there is a quick switch between any mode and the control station.
