Austal delivers first Joint High Speed Vessel - USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1)
 
The first Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV), USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1), was officially delivered by Austal to the United States Navy on 5 December. The signing event was attended Craig Perciavalle, Sr. Vice President of Austal USA, representing the builder. The USNS Spearhead successfully completed Acceptance Trials in September and will sail away later this year.

CNIM delivers 4th L-CAT/EDA-R landing catamaran to the French Defense Procurement Agency
 
As part of the contract awarded to CNIM by the French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) in 2009, EDA-R (Fast Amphibious Landing Craft) no. 4 was delivered on Monday 26 November 2012, one year after the first vessel. After arriving at the CNIM site in La Seyne-sur-Mer in October, EDA-R #04 (L9095) successfully completed the tests stipulated in the contract and was therefore accepted by the DGA.

This is truly a milestone event, and it marks an important step forward in ensuring both our future military capability and industrial opportunities for the Norwegian defence industry, said State Secretary of Defence Eirik Øwre Thorshaug after he Thursday officially unveiled the first completed fuselage for the new Joint Strike Missile, developed by Kongsberg for the F-35.
