The Insitu ScanEagle is a small, low-cost, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.

     
The Insitu family of unmanned aircraft includes ScanEagle® developed in partnership with The Boeing Company and Integrator™, which provides advanced plug-and-play payload interfaces that extend your operational capability. Both aircraft are retrieved by Insitu’s patented SkyHook® system, distinguished by its small-footprint design that eliminates the need for runways and associated hardware.

Insitu systems are proven through more than 729,550 combat flight hours, and operate over land and at sea in both civilian and defense operations. Practical applications of our technology include military reconnaissance, the creation of communication networks in remote or devastated areas, border patrol, coastal monitoring, anti-sniper efforts, environmental monitoring, search and rescue, disaster relief and other missions that are too tedious or dangerous for human pilots.

ScanEagle® unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are a product of Insitu, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. ScanEagle is a cost-effective, long-endurance autonomous UAS that provides persistent daytime and nighttime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) for a variety of government and civilian applications. The aircraft is launched autonomously via a catapult launcher, and the system’s patented no-nets, runway-independent retrieval solution, SkyHook®, catches the aircraft by its wing tip with a rope that hangs from a 50-foot-high boom. ScanEagle can remain covert and on station for 18-plus hours.
