The new order of corvettes will build on the success of the existing Tuo Chiang-class vessels, showcasing state-of-the-art design and technology. This initiative underscores Taiwan's dedication to maritime security and the protection of its territorial waters. The advanced vessels are a reflection of Lungteh Shipbuilding's commitment to excellence.

Equipped with quad MJP 850 CSU waterjets, the Tuo Chiang-class corvettes are celebrated for their unparalleled speed, agility, and adaptability. Their catamaran hull design ensures stability and efficiency, allowing them to navigate seamlessly across diverse sea conditions. These ships are versatile, capable of executing missions ranging from coastal defense and anti-surface warfare to anti-air warfare and maritime patrol.

Technical data

The corvettes have a displacement ranging from 567 tonnes at full load to 732 tonnes for the improved hull variant. The length of these corvettes is 60.4 meters on cushion, with the improved hull version extending to 65 meters.

Their beam measures 14 meters, expanding to 14.8 meters for the improved hull. The draught is 2.3 meters, which is slightly reduced to 2.1 meters in the improved hull design. These ships can achieve speeds of up to 45 knots when fully armed. They are designed to accommodate a crew of 41 members.

The corvette is also fitted with a variable depth sonar. For electronic warfare and defense, these corvettes are equipped with 12 counter-IR/RF chaff dispensers, positioned both at the bow and stern.
