According to information published by United Shipbuilding Corporation on December 1, 2023, the frigate Admiral Golovko, under construction by PJSC 'Northern Shipyard' (part of USC), has successfully completed its factory and state trials in the Barents Sea, at the Northern Fleet's marine ranges. These trials involved comprehensive testing of all the ship's devices and weapon systems.

In the upcoming period, the frigate will undergo a thorough revision. Following this, preparations will begin for the ceremony to raise the St. Andrew's flag, signifying the ship's official commissioning into the Russian Navy. The 'Admiral Golovko' is the third vessel of its project and the first in the series to be powered by a domestically-produced energy installation.
Technical data
With a standard displacement of 4,500 tons and a full displacement of 5,400 tons, the frigate measures 135 meters in length and 16 meters in beam, with a draught of 4.5 meters.
Propulsion is achieved through a two-shaft CODAG system, which includes two 10D49 cruise diesel engines providing 5,200 shp (3,900 kW) and two M90FR boost gas turbines offering 27,500 shp (20,500 kW), culminating in a total power output of 65,400 shp (48,800 kW).
This setup enables the frigate to reach speeds of up to 29.5 knots (54.6 km/h; 33.9 mph) and offers a range of 4,850 nautical miles (8,980 km; 5,580 mi) at 14 knots (26 km/h; 16 mph). The vessel is designed for an endurance of 30 days at sea with a complement of 210 personnel.
The Admiral Golovko is equipped with advanced sensors and processing systems, including the Furke-4 5P-27 main radar for air and surface target detection and tracking, the Monolit 34K1 surface search radar, and the Puma 5P-10 main artillery radar fire control system.
Its sonar capabilities are served by the Zarya M sonar and the Vinyetka towed array sonar, supplemented by 3 × Pal-N radars for navigation, 2 × target illuminators aft superstructure for the Palash CIWS, Vigstar Centaurus-NM communications systems, and 2 × MTK-201M and 2 × 5P-520 electro-optical systems. The combat system is based on the Sigma/Sigma 22350 platform.
In terms of electronic warfare and decoys, the frigate employs the Prosvet-M EW Suite and is equipped with 2 × PU KT-308, 8 × PU KT-216, and 2 × 5P-42 Filin countermeasure systems.
The Admiral Golovko's armament features a 130 mm Amethyst/Arsenal A-192M naval gun, 16 UKSK VLS cells for Kalibr, Oniks, or Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles, and 32 Redut VLS cells for various surface-to-air missiles. It also includes 2 × Palash CIWS, 2 × 4 330 mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK torpedoes, and 2 × 14.5 mm MTPU pedestal machine guns. The frigate also has the capability to carry one Ka-27 series helicopter, supported by a helipad and hangar for aviation operations.
