EDEX 2023: 76-meter Offshore Patrol Vessel by Dearsan Shipyard.

The Turkish company Dearsan Shipyard has showcased its latest 76-meter Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) at the EDEX 2023, the defense exhibition taking place in Cairo.

The Offshore Patrol Vessel OPV 76, measuring 76.80 meters in length with a beam of 11.00 meters and a draft of 2.90 meters, boasts an impressive displacement of 1100 tons.

Capable of reaching a maximum speed of 28 knots and a range of 3000 nautical miles, this vessel is constructed with a steel hull and a Sealium superstructure. It also accommodates a crew of 43 people.

Designed for versatility, the OPV 76 is equipped for primary missions including Anti-Air Warfare (AAW), Maritime Interdiction Operations, and Anti-Surface Warfare, along with Surface and Air Surveillance.

It is also capable Special Forces Operations, Search and Rescue Operations, Execution of Intelligence Operations, and Protection of Economic Activities. In addition, the vessel is prepared for secondary missions such as Asymmetric Warfare, Patrol Duties, Anti-Piracy, Anti-Smuggling, Anti-Drug Trafficking, Fishery Protection and Patrol, Disaster Relief Operation.

The vessel's armament includes a 76 mm Leonardo Super Rapid Gun, a 40 mm Leonardo Light Naval Gun, 2 x 12.7 mm Stabilized Automatic Machine Guns, 2 x 12.7 mm Manual Use Machine Guns, and 2 x 2 SAM SIMBAD RC (MBDA).

It also features an advanced Combat Management System (CMS), a suite of sensors and navigation systems including a 3D Radar for air and surface surveillance, an IFF System, Electronic Support Measure System, CHAFF/DECOY System, Tactical Data Link System (TADL), and an Electro-Optical Reconnaissance and Surveillance System.

The propulsion system of the OPV 76 is powered by 4 x MAN 18VP185 Diesel Engines with a CPP propulsion system, and it includes 3 x Diesel Generators.
