In January, it was reported that "Generalissimus Suvorov" transitioned from Severodvinsk to a temporary base with the Northern Fleet. Traditionally, new submarine transitions to the Pacific Fleet are carried out in the summer via the Northern Sea Route.

As per existing practice, these journeys are accompanied by groups of ships from both the Northern and Pacific Fleets in their respective zones of responsibility.

The "Generalissimus Suvorov" belongs to the fourth generation of nuclear submarines of the improved "Borei-A" project, designed by the Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering "Rubin" in St. Petersburg. The project incorporates fundamentally new technical solutions, enhanced equipment, reduced physical field levels, increased safety, and has undergone extensive work for import substitution.

The submarine was laid down at the Sevmash shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) on December 26, 2014, launched on December 25, 2021, and became part of the Russian Navy in 2022. The submarine is expected to enhance and reinforce the group of nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet.

The submarine has a displacement of 14,720 tons (14,488 long tons) when surfaced and 24,000 tons (23,621 long tons) when submerged. She measures 170 meters (557 feet 9 inches) in length, with a beam of 13.5 meters (44 feet 3 inches) and a draught of 10 meters (32 feet 10 inches).

The submarine's propulsion system consists of a single OK-650B nuclear reactor, powering an AEU steam turbine that drives a single shaft. This setup enables the submarine to reach a speed of 25 knots (46 km/h; 29 mph).

The complement of the submarine includes 130 officers and sailors who operate the vessel and its systems. As for armament, the submarine is equipped with 16 R-30 Bulava Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs) for her offensive capabilities. Additionally, she features 6 torpedo tubes measuring 21 inches (533 mm), which are used to fire a variety of appropriately sized weapons.
