Having been active since 2008 as a significant member of Team Victoria-class, Babcock Canada has consistently played a role in providing in-service support to the Royal Canadian Navy's Victoria class submarines. Their contributions to the fleet's maintenance and operational readiness have been noted over the years.

One such demonstration of their dedication is their involvement with the HMCS CHICOUTIMI. In 2010, this submarine underwent an Extended Docking Work Period (EDWP) at Victoria Shipyards in Esquimalt, which Babcock managed.

This maintenance period, completed in December 2014, saw Babcock Canada returning HMCS CHICOUTIMI to the Royal Canadian Navy after intensive maintenance and updates.

Hanwha Ocean, which was previously branded as DSME, is involved in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the Republic of Korea's diesel-electric submarines.

Their operations include handling multiple third-line dockings simultaneously at the Geoje Shipyard’s Naval Ship Area. Beyond these services, Hanwha Ocean has also made strides in the fields of submarine design and construction.

In the initial symposium that took place in early September 2023, Babcock sent a delegation of submarine sustainment experts to South Korea. This delegation, led by Keith Cunnane, VP of Marine and Mission Systems, interacted with Hanwha Ocean and other essential components of the Korean submarine sustainment industry.

The primary goal of this symposium was to foster knowledge exchange and discuss best practices in the realm of submarine sustainment. The events allow both organizations to gain insights from each other's experiences and methodologies.
