The Patria SONAC ACS is designed to neutralize modern sea mines equipped with advanced acoustic triggers, a critical capability given the constant evolution of underwater threats. This sweeping system can simulate the sound of any ship, thus offering exceptional performance in Mine Setting Mode (MSM), Target Simulation Mode (TSM), and Mine Jamming Mode (MJM). It can transmit recorded acoustic waveforms with high sound pressure over a wide frequency band.

The technical features of the SONAC ACS include low, medium, and high-frequency transmitters, as well as a dedicated hydrophone for monitoring acoustic output. Its composite casing, reinforced by a rigid frame, integrates a passive pressure compensation unit for each low-frequency transmitter, ensuring its robustness and reliability under pressure. The modular design of its hull allows for the integration of additional components, such as an echo repeater or additional sensors like sonars or optical sensors.

This system is controlled by onboard software that allows for real-time surveillance and adjustment of scanning parameters. This feature ensures great operational flexibility, allowing operators to select or design specific acoustic signatures for transmission. The ease of handling, maintenance, deployment, and recovery of the SONAC ACS, combined with its compact and lightweight design, makes it possible to tow it with an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) or other small vessels.

Featuring a length of 260 cm, a diameter of 68 cm, and a weight ranging from 400 to 500 kg in air (180 to 220 kg in water), the SONAC ACS displays physical characteristics optimized for maximum efficiency. Its wide range of frequencies, from 7 Hz to 70 kHz, and its preferred power supply of 6 kVA, underscore its ability to operate in various conditions.

This acoustic mine sweeping system represents a step forward in improving global maritime security, enhancing the naval forces' ability to effectively protect their waters against modern underwater threats.
