Ukroboronprom Supplied Missile Systems "Arbalet-K"’ And "Bar’er-Vk" to Navy of Kazakhstan

State Kyiv Design Bureau ‘Luch’, being incorporated with Ukroboronprom, has shipped for the Navy of Kazakhstan the next batch of armament that contains Arbalet-K short range shipborne air defense system and Bar’er-VK naval missile guided weapon system.

It was informed by Sergiy Gromov, General Director of the State Concern ‘Ukroboronprom’. According to executive, the first batch that had been shipped earlier has already been put into operation by the Navy of Kazakhstan and it is being successfully used in the interest of the national security of this country.

“State Kyiv Design Bureau ‘Luch’ is the ‘flagship’ enterprise of the state military industrial complex involved in development and manufacture of up-to-date armament and enhancement of unique technologies. In the past two years the enterprise has mastered a new successful direction - manufacture of armament for small warships. The success of those developments is proved by the regularity of shipments for the foreign customer”, Mr. Gromov said.

Arbalet-K short range shipborne air-defense missile system is intended to destroy jet, propjet and propeller-driven aircrafts and helicopters at head-on and pursuit courses under conditions of a target direct visibility with the use of air-defense guided missiles of “Igla” type. The firing range is not more than 5000 m, the minimum altitude of targets destruction is 10 m, target detection range – 12 km at day time and 7 km at night time.

Bar’er-VK naval missile guided weapon system is designed to destroy ships as well as coastal moving and stationary modern armoured targets and light-armoured objects, coastal fortified firing positions and helicopters with missiles RK-2V. The maximum firing range is 7500 m. Flight time to maximum range is 30 s. The system of missile guidance acts through laser ray with automatic mode of target tracking.
