At the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX 2016) currently underway in Qatar, Serbian company Yugoimport unveils its latest project: The Fast Patrol Vessel - Interceptor (FPV-I). FPV-I is a high performance assault vessel.

Currently at project stage, a Yugoimport representative explained to Navy Recognition during DIMDEX that the vessel will be capable to reach a speed of 40+ knots with full load. The crew complement is set to be 3 to 4 men depending on weapon arrangement, and accomodations for up to 20 passengers. Endurance is expected to be 8 hours at cruising speed. The length of the vessel is 16 meters full a displacementof 20 tons.

The FPV-I can be used in a wide variety of missions:
Fast insert or extraction of troops
Patrol Duty
Anti-trafficking and anti-smuggling
Blockade of ports

The hull of FPV-I will be completely built from marine grade alluminum alloy. Hull will be deep V with a specific bow. The bow will be strenghthened to allow beaching. Double bottom area will be filled with PU foam to ensure that even in case of hull damage, the vessel will still float. Propulsion is achieved with two waterjets.

There are 5 stations for weapons. Stations can be used for mounting a single 20mm cannon, remotely controlled weapon stations 12.7mm, single or double HMG, single 7.62mm MG, 30mm AGL. Various missile launchers may be fitted at the stern such as the ALAS Advanced Light Attack Missile System.
