According to information published by the Eurasian Times on December 28, 2022, a Chinese Carrier Strike Group (CSG) led by the aircraft carrier Liaoning has been carrying out military drills in the western Pacific, simulating attacks on Japan’s Nansei Islands. A few days later, China sent 47 aircraft to the Taiwan Strait. This represents the largest incursion into the island's airspace in recent months.

According to information published by the Chinese MoD on December 25, 2022, the PLA Eastern Theater Command conducted the joint combat-readiness security patrol and joint firepower striking exercise involving troops of multiple services and arms in the waters and airspace around Taiwan Island. Let's imagine the scenarios of an attempt by China to take over the island in the years to come.

Today’s defence scenarios require absolute dominance of the airspace, irrespective of the threats and the operational complexity. The need for Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) solutions is even more significant since they allow a synergistic approach and the coordination in real-time of all available sensors and weapons, making it possible to counter any kind of threats. The advanced radar technology of Leonardo's KRONOS family fits perfectly into this ecosystem.

According to information released on November 4, 2021, Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a Raytheon Technologies business, in partnership with the Office of U.S. Naval Research, completed successful demonstrations of the Network Cooperative Radar program, an advanced radar system solution that supports the U.S. Navy’s goal of creating distributed sensing networks to defend against evolving threats. NCR supports the Navy’s Distributed Maritime Operations concept by giving electromagnetic maneuver warfare capabilities to the fleet.

According to information released by BAE Systems, the British Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth is equipped with the latest generation of wastewater treatment systems. The Elizabeth entered service into the Royal Navy in December 2017. The ship has gone above and beyond statutory compliance, with extra commitment to environmental protection demonstrated by installing a treatment plant that is capable of gathering and treating all wastewater prior to storage or discharge.

Russia is pursuing two hypersonic weapons programs including the Avangard and the 3M22 Tsirkon also called Zircon. Tsirkon is reportedly capable of striking both ground and naval targets. The Severodvinsk Yasen-class SSGM of project 885 for the first time test-fired Tsirkon hypersonic missile from a surfaced position and a depth of 40 meters.

The U.S. Navy and Raytheon Missiles & Defense, a Raytheon Technologies business, completed a series of tests on the Enterprise Air Surveillance Radar at the Navy’s Wallops Island Test Facility in Virginia. The tests validated the performance of EASR’s two variants: the SPY-6(V)2 rotating and SPY-6(V)3 fixed-face radars.

In July 2020, it was announced that the Chinese Navy has deployed its latest long-range bomber aircraft called H-6J, which is based on the Soviet-made Tupolev Tu-16 twin-engine jet bomber, and built under license in China by the company Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation. Recent pictures released on the Chinese TV CCTV showed that the H-6J is able to carry YJ-12 anti-ship cruise missiles.
