The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Missouri, is awarded a $656,981,421 modification (P00014) to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract (N00019-19-C-0016). This modification procures and delivers 467 Harpoon full rate production Lot 91 Block II missiles and support equipment for various Foreign Military Sales customers including Brazil, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Japan, the Netherlands, India and South Korea.

This modification procures four Block II missiles and support equipment for the government of Brazil, eight Block II missiles and support equipment for the government of Thailand, 53 Block II missiles and support equipment for the government of Qatar, 402 Block II missiles and support equipment for the government of Saudi Arabia, and support equipment for the governments of Japan, the Netherlands, India and Korea. Work is expected to be complete by December 2026.
The Harpoon is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile, that was developed and manufactured by McDonnell Douglas who is now Boeing Defense, Space & Security. It can be used to destroy a wide range of targets as land-based areas, including coastal defence sites, surface-to-air missile sites, aircraft, port or industrial facilities, and naval ships anchored in ports.
The Harpoon Block II was developed to offer an expanded engagement envelope, enhanced resistance to electronic countermeasures and improved targeting. The Block II missiles continue progress begun with Block IE, and the Block II missile provides the Harpoon with a littoral-water anti-ship capability.
The Harpoon Block II missile can be launched from all Harpoon missile launch systems equipped with existing command and launch systems or the Advanced Harpoon Weapon Control System (AHWCS).
The missile is deployed from submarines and surface ships such as fast patrol boats, destroyers and frigates. The aerial platforms include F/A-18, F-15, F-16, F-27, F-50, P-3, S-3 aircraft. The Harpoon Block II missiles can also be launched from mobile land-based truck platforms.
