This project involves the development of four Pohjanmaa class multi-role corvettes by the Finnish shipyard Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC). Together with existing Hamina-class missile boats, they will form the backbone of the Finnish Navy. Furuno is in charge of providing a fully integrated navigation system for those future vessels.

Phins Series is an INS based on the Fiber-Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technology. Purely solid-state, the FOG technology does not require preventive maintenance, which implies significant long-term savings for users.

The Pohjanmaa class is a series of four multi-role corvettes currently under development for the Finnish Navy as part of the Squadron 2020 (Finnish: Laivue 2020) project.

The overall length of the Pohjanmaa-class corvettes will be about 114 metres (374 ft 0 in) and the beam about 16 metres (52 ft 6 in). The maximum draught of the vessels will be about 5 metres (16 ft 5 in) which correspond to a displacement of about 3,900 tonnes (3,800 long tons).
