Project 22160 was developed at the Northern Design and Engineering Bureau JSC. These vessels are intended for patrolling the 200-mile exclusive economic zone in the open and closed seas, suppressing smuggling and piracy activities, searching for and assisting victims of maritime accidents and environmental monitoring.
In wartime, they perform tasks of guarding ships and vessels at sea crossing as well as naval bases and water areas in order to warn against attacks of various enemy forces, the website of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) states.
These ships have a displacement of 1,500 tons, are 94 meters long, 14 meters wide, and have a draught of 3.4 meters. They can be in autonomous voyage for 60 days and speed up to 30 knots.
The maximum cruising range is 6000 nautical miles. The vessel provides accommodation for 80 crew members. In this case, the actual number of the crew is determined by the task assigned to the vessel.
Patrol ships are armed with the 57-mm Automatic Artillery Gun A-220M (designed by Central Research Institute "Burevestnik") and two 14.5 caliber naval turret gun mounts by the plant named after V. Degtyarev. The ship is protected from air strikes by the anti-aircraft system "Gibka" and man-portable air defense system "Igla".
The ship can conduct electronic warfare with the help of passive jamming system PK-10 and the ship's radio electronic suppression system TK-25E.
