TRAKON TARGAN is a defense weapon system developed for naval vessels, aimed at providing close-in defense against air and surface threats. It is equipped with either a 12.7x99mm HMG or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher (MK-19).

The system features advanced capabilities in surveillance, reconnaissance, and target tracking. This is achieved through a high-tech electro-optical suite mounted on a stabilized gimbal, allowing for tracking without needing to align the gun axis directly with the target.

The Turkish Ministry of Defence has chosen TRAKON TARGAN as the preferred close-in weapon system for the HISAR class Off-Shore Patrol Vessel (OPV) project, which is being constructed for the Turkish Naval Forces.

In terms of compatibility, TRAKON TARGAN works seamlessly with HAVELSAN’s new generation combat management system, known as "ADVENT". It can be operated either through its dedicated control console or integrated into the ADVENT combat management system.
