The new Iranian ballistic missile has a range of 1,500 kilometers and a speed of Mach 8 and is capable of hitting moving targets with great accuracy. As a result, hostile warships and aircraft carriers located within 1,500 kilometers of the Iranian coastline would no longer be safe.

The Iranian Armed Forces currently have seven medium-range ballistic missiles: Ashoura, Emad, Fajr-3, Ghadr-110, Khorramshahr, Sejjil, and Shahab-3.

The most recent medium-range ballistic missile is the Khorramshahr which was tested in January 2017. This ballistic missile has a mass of 19.5 tons and is 13 meters long, with a diameter of 1.5 meters.

It is powered by a liquid-fuel rocket engine and has an operational range of 2,000 kilometers with a 1,800-kilogram warhead. The maximum speed of the missile is unknown. The missile has an accuracy of 3 meters and is launched from a mobile platform.

The Khorramshahr still has the potential to carry nuclear warheads due to its heavy payload. However, it is unclear whether the missile can carry multiple nuclear warheads due to their size.
