Under the Preveye-Yöm project, which aims to modernize four Preveze-class submarines, STM has successfully completed the acceptance trials for critical systems.

These trials included the Inertial Navigation System, CTD Probes, Cooled Water Systems, and Static Inverters. The approval from the Defense Industry Agency (SSB) was received on March 2, 2023. This accomplishment highlights STM's commitment to equipping the Turkish Naval Forces Command with advanced national systems.

In addition to the Preveze project, STM has been assigned a crucial task in the Gür-class submarine project. Specifically, STM will be responsible for the platform integration of the Advent-Müren Combat Management System on Gür-class Submarines.

This collaboration, initiated through a contract with TÜBİTAK Bilgem, aims to enhance the capabilities of Gür-class Submarines by integrating the national torpedo AKYA firing capability. The indigenous combat management system, considered the "brain" of the submarines, will contribute to their modernization efforts.

STM's involvement in submarine projects extends beyond these two endeavors. The company has been actively engaged in designing, constructing, and modernizing surface and submarine platforms for the Turkish Navy, as well as for friendly and allied nations.

With a focus on addressing specific needs and improving mission effectiveness, STM has successfully completed the modernization of two Ay-class submarines and continues to serve as the main contractor for the modernization of French-made Agosta 90B Khalid-class submarines owned by Pakistan.

Furthermore, STM is dedicated to research and development activities, including the design of the STM500 submarine using national resources. Additionally, the company is exploring unmanned surface and submarine vessels, further expanding its capabilities and contributions in the field of naval defense.
