After the integration of the laser weapon demonstrator (LWD) onboard the German frigate “Sachsen” in June 2022, the trials of the LWD at sea have successfully been completed. Responsible for development and construction as well as the support during the trials that have been planned and organised by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw), is the High-Energy Laser Naval Demonstrator Working Group, or ARGE, consisting of MBDA Deutschland GmbH and Rheinmetall.

According to information published by the Australian DoD on September 19, 2023, the ADF is set to enhance its maritime surveillance and response assets, as the government announces plans to procure an additional MQ-4C Triton remotely piloted aircraft system and enhance the existing P-8A Poseidon patrol aircraft fleet.

On September 9, the Royal Navy announced via its Twitter account that HMS Dauntless, a Type 45 destroyer, had carried out two operations in the Caribbean Sea, leading to the confiscation of over a tonne of cocaine. The Portsmouth-based warship collaborated closely with the US Coast Guard and Royal Marines for these operations. The ship's Sampson radar played a crucial role in both operations.

On September 7, 2023, Austal USA was awarded a $91,535,551 firm-fixed-price contract from the U.S. Navy to design and construct three Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1700-class vessels. The contract also includes options for nine vessels additional and associated support efforts.
