Russia & China to Conduct the 1st Joint Amphibious Assault Drill in Sea of Japan
 
According to Russian news agency TASS, Russian and Chinese Navy signed in Vladivostok on Friday a protocol on the Join Sea-2015 drills. These maneuvers will for the first time involve a joint amphibious assault drill in Russia’s Primorsky territory with the participation of carrier-based aircraft, said Russian Pacific Fleet spokesman Roman Martov.

The amphibious assault drill will likely involve PLAN Type 726 LCAC and Type 071 LPD
     
"The final planning conference of the joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise Joint Sea-2015 has ended in Vladivostok. Representatives of the headquarters of the Russian Pacific Fleet and the Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China have carried out major work for the planning of the Chinese warships’ visit to Vladivostok port, the cultural program, sports competitions and all the tactical events of the sea, land and air parts of the maneuvers," Martov said.

According to Russian Pacific Fleet spokesman, the maneuvers will involve an aircraft carrier. Will it be the Russian carrier Admiral Kuznetsov or the PLAN's Liaoning or both... ? (Liaoning pictured).
     
He said that the exercise would be held in the Sea of Japan and off the coast of Russia’s Primorsky territory in late August. The drills will involve from both sides about 20 warships and support vessels of various class, as well as planes and helicopters of naval aviation.
