Anadolu Shipyard launched two Landing Craft Mechanised for Qatar


According to information published by Deniz Haber on February 9, 2022, the Turkish firm Anadolu Shipyard launched two Landing Craft Mechanized QL41 SHAT and QL40 BROOG for the Qatari Emiri Navy.

These high-tech Landing Craft Mechanised are built entirely of marine-type aluminum with a domestic and original design. The ships have a length of 40 meters, a width of 9 meters, and a displacement of approximately 300 tons.

The LCMs have a range of 400 nautical miles and will undertake logistics support duties as well as landing missions.

The ships, which can be used between beaches, military bases, ports, and oil platforms as well as amphibious operations, are capable of reaching 20 knots when loaded.

They will be able to carry a total of 130 tons of cargo, 2 Main Battle Tanks, and will be able to serve with 7 personnel. 

QL41 SHAT and QL40 BROOG are scheduled to be delivered to the Qatar Navy in August 2022 and to be in Qatar in September.
