The event means that the vessel is officially commissioned in the PLAN.

Kelvin Hughes SharpEye Solid-State Nav Radars to be Fitted on more than 60 Royal Navy Vessels
 
The UK MOD announced that over the next five years, the MOD’s Navigation Radar Programme will replace existing radars fitted across the Royal Navy fleet and shore facilities with solid-state SharpEye™ radar transceivers designed and developed in the UK by Kelvin Hughes in Enfield North London. The new radars are the result of a £44 million contract award by the Ministry of Defence.

The U.S. Navy Commander Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMNAVSURFPAC) just released a video to illustrate the Distributed Lethality Concept. The distributed lethality concept was introduced (and is being advocated) by Vice Admiral Thomas Rowden, the Commander of the U.S. Navy's surface forces. It can be summarized by fitting more weapons on more vessels in order to "deceive the enemy, target the enemy, and destroy the enemy".

China's Fourth Type 071 LPD Amphibious Vessel Yimeng Shan to be Commissioned February 1st
 
An article published on the website of the Chinese town of Linyi indicates that the fourth People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) Type 071 amphibious transport dock LPD Yimeng Shan (hull number 988) will be commissioned next Monday, February 1st 2016. Yimeng Shan was built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a wholly owned subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC, the largest shipbuilding group in China) as was the case for the first three Type 071 vessels.

US Maritime Adm. Awards Contracts to Crew & Maintain National Defense Reserve Fleet Vessels
 
U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx today announced that DOT has awarded contracts with a total award value of $1.96 billion over eight years to seven U.S. maritime firms to manage, maintain and operate 48 National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) vessels through January 2024. These Maritime Administration contracts are funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) National Defense Sealift Fund to support DoD’s strategic sealift mission.

The event means that the warship is officially commissioned to the PLAN. "Jingmen" is the twenty-fourth Type 056 Corvette (Jiangdao class).

In December 2015 ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK (AEUK), together with their parent company ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, successfully delivered an ARCIMS multi-role USV to the German Naval Technical Centre, WTD71, based within the Eckernfoerde Naval Base. This follows the recent success earlier in 2015 where AEUK secured a major contract with the UK MoD to supply the Royal Navy with an Autonomous Minesweeping Capability.

The Solstice side-scan sonar will be fitted to Saab Seaeye's Double Eagle SAROV and used to search for and classify mine-like objects on the seabed.

Two new vessels have arrived for the Coast Guard of the Federal Security Service in the Russian Far East, Coast Guard spokesperson Albina Proskurenko told TASS on Monday. The vessels were built by the Vostochnaya Shipyard in accordance with Russian projects, the spokesperson added. One of them is a Rubin-class patrol boat (Project 22460).
