Ultra and Mahindra win $80 million contract for Indian Navy


According to a press release published by Ultra on January 12, 2021, the company is pleased to announce, in partnership with Mahindra Defence Systems Limited, the award of the Integrated Anti-Submarine Warfare Defence Suite (IADS) programme for selected frontline warships of the Indian Navy.

The contract is worth approximately £60 million to Ultra. Deliveries are due to commence in 2024 and are to be completed by 2030.

IADS is high-end underwater equipment that uses the latest technology. It is designed to detect and protect warships from underwater threats. It is a versatile system capable of operations from all sizes of warships - small, medium and large.

The complex array of sensors in water undertakes surveillance and provides inputs for signal processing and analysis. The warship then employs methods to neutralise the underwater threats.
