Babcock has secured two further contracts relating to Poland’s frigate programme called Miecznik (Swordfish). The Class Design Contract and the Transfer of Knowledge & Skills (TOKAT) framework agreement respectively support the further development of the programme and the enhancement of shipbuilding capability in Poland to deliver Miecznik to schedule. The two contracts underpin the strong economic and trade relations between the United Kingdom and Poland.

The German air defense frigate will become an integral part of the group, which includes several warships and support ships, with the US 's newest aircraft carrier. The primary task of the "Hessen" will be the association's air defence, so it serves to protect all ships and especially the "Gerald R. Ford" against potential enemy guided missiles, fighter-bombers or bombers. The focus of the coming weeks in the North Atlantic will be multinational operational cooperation and targeted operational training based on various threat scenarios.

The IRGC Navy took delivery of the new warships in a ceremony in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Monday.

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) announced on September 2 that it has been awarded a contract by US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to continue development and evaluation of tailored configurations of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) as a potential Foreign Military Sale to the French Navy for their next generation aircraft carrier, Porte-Avions Nouvelle Génération (PA NG).

According to a PR published by Leonardo DRS on August 30, 2022, the firm announced that it has successfully completed factory acceptance testing and shipment of the first production unit of the main propulsion motor for the U.S. Navy’s new Columbia class submarine. The motor was recently shipped to General Dynamics Electric Boat (EB) for integration into the lead ship of the class.
